Making the most of mobile broadband bundles â Mobile Broadband Genie reports on latest offers
This week has seen some interesting new offers from two mobile broadband competitors. Itâs a promising sign for the mobile broadband industry and consumers alike. Recent announcements indicate that UK customers should be seeing more and more bundled offers coming in to play as ISPs attempt to lure subscribers in.
O2 were first up, offering a new home and mobile broadband bundled package. Customers who sign up to O2âs £20 per month mobile broadband package will now be able to make use of free âup to 8 Mbps home service for one year, plus a new wireless router thanks to a new package.
Open to everyone signing up to O2 Mobile Broadband between 1 August and 31 October within range of the O2 Home Broadband network, O2 are claiming that they are âthe first established broadband player to offer customers high-speed internet access inside the home and on the moveâ with one combined package. Any customers outside of the network will be able to receive discount on their chosen plan instead.
O2 has also announced that it will be released a âbroadband in a boxâ package whereby people will be able to purchase all the kit they need to connect up to broadband as one bundle for £30.
Gillian Nightingale from Mobile Broadband Genie(http://mobile.broadbandgenie.co.uk) commented:
âThis is an important announcement from a provider who has strong footing in both the fixed broadband and mobile broadband industry. Mobile Broadband Genie predicts that more bundled home and mobile broadband deals will be surfacing before the end of the year.â
Encouraging customers with goodies, T-Mobile are currently offering a free WiFi enabled laptop for all new mobile broadband customers as part of a web exclusive offer. Worth £349.99, the Acer TravelMate 5320 comes ready with WiFi HotSpot access and a free USB modem stick bundled with 200 free texts and is available to all those who sign up to the Mobile Broadband Plus 24 month unlimited package. The subscription costs £30 a month, but there is also a next working day laptop delivery charge of £14.99 on top of this.
But these new announcements come with a warning: âAlways do your maths and never sign up for a lengthy package without being absolutely certain that you will be able to keep up with payments,â said Gillian from Mobile Broadband Genie.
